The Combination Welding Diploma Program offers many opportunities if you enjoy working with your hands, machines, and metals. Hands-on training will allow you to develop the basic manipulative skills involved in welding and flame cutting, and classroom instruction covers welding theory, shop prints and blueprints and more. When you graduate, you will be prepared to take the test for the Welding Certification from American Welding Society (AWS) 3G-4G.
This program incorporates shop safety throughout the program to ensure safe practices, while completing required competencies. Instruction includes blueprint reading, measurement, cylinder safety, and plasma and oxy-fuel cutting.
Students set up amperage adjustment and voltage polarity prior to welding mild steel and also engage in in-depth study and practice of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
